PSHE

What does it mean to be a Citizen in the Modern World?

Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE) helps to give pupils the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to lead confident, healthy, independent lives, in order to become informed, active and responsible citizens. We will enable our pupils to care for the world as our common home, aspire to be the best that they can be for themselves and others, and prepare to open our children to the possibilities that are awaiting them.

RSHE

At St Mary's we believe that RSHE teaching and learning is vital to support the development of healthy relationships in order for our pupils to grow into mature adults knowing what is right and wrong.

We are faithful to the Church's vision of human wholeness whilst recognising the changing society and the context in which we live today.  W teach our pupils that every human has a dignity; we teach respect and we provide a positive view of human sexuality and peoples choices.

We endeavour for our children to have the knowledge and skills to make practical judgement and to differ the right from wrong in different situations and contexts.
