New Topic: ‘Oh I do like to be beside the seaside’.
We have begun our new topic. At home, through listening to
Tiddler, we have explored creative ideas and mathematical
learning. We have created new stories based on Tiddler, but in ours he meets other creatures, makes up new tall tales, or is captured by somebody or something else. We practised our mathematical thinking and vocabulary. We have been rock pooling and exploring our own environment, and we have been creative making up our own sea creatures.
So what next…..
It is time to get ready for Year 1. We are making sure that we know our phonics which we have been taught and can read and write words using these sounds. We are becoming more secure with our number knowledge to 20, by counting, reading, writing, and ordering numbers to 20, as well as number facts like counting in 1’s, 2’s and 5’s, doubling, halving and sharing and odds and evens.
